The Financial District's heartbeat is the New York Stock Exchange located on Wall and Broad in the center of the district - which is pretty much everything south of Chambers Street to the waterline in the Battery.
City Hall is the northern end of the financial district, so retail shops around there are often referred to as in the "City Hall" area
Battery Park city is a huge group of commercial and residential buildings built on landfill on the western section of the district.
