FLATIRON / GRAMERCY / UNION SQUARE
The Flation District, home to many photography related industries as well as internet firms, is the area surrounding the three-sided Flatiron Building which is at the intersection of 23d street, Broadway and Fifth Avenue. Madison Square Park is a stone's throw from the Flatiron across 23d and is considered in southern midtown.
Gramercy Park, a private, London-like park just south of Lexington and 22d street is surrounded by residential buildings.
Union Square is the most crowded of there retail districts, as many subway lines converge at the Union Square subway station. It is located just North of 14th Street between Union Square West and Park Ave.
The main retail districts of these neighborhoods include 14th and 23d streets going East/west; and 5th, Broadway, Park and Third Ave going north/south.
