ABOUT THE SPACEFINDERNYC
The SpacefinderNYC is Robert "Bob" Egan, the Director of Retail Leasing and Marketing and at The Jansizian Group in New York City.
While Mr. Egan's specialty is retail store leasing, he also works with building assemblages and equity building investments.
Bob developed The SpacefinderNYC website in order to illustrate, in addition to sites offered by the big leasing companies, the vast number of retail spaces available in New York City that are "off the radar" -- those sites listed by property owners, often with just a sign in their window, and usually not advertised on the web or in papers.
In addition, Bob and his colleagues, scour the internet for listings of stores that are available for rent, but that do not have signs in their windows for one reason or the other. This way they cover the full spectrum of available retail spaces in Manhattan.
Before working in commercial real estate, Bob was a writer and researcher. He has written several non-fiction books, including The Bookstore Book (the first guide to New York City bookstores) and From Here to Fraternity (about college fraternities), was a paperback book editor at the Pocket Books division of Simon & Schuster, a photo researcher for a major book packager, and worked as a copywriter at an award-winning interactive Web design firm.
He also was President of the Board of Directors of a 45-unit Fifth Avenue Co-op in Manhattan for ten years.
Having lived 25 years in Greenwich Village, Bob now presently lives in Westchester with his wife, a language instructor, and 3 children, now mostly off to college. And Tito, the family cat.
